DAY 1OF THE TRIP FROM FES: FES – MIDELT – MERZOUGA DESERT
Today we will pick you up early in the morning from you accommodation in Fes, in order to begin our journey towards Morocco’s Sahara Desert. Along the way, we will be driving through the Middle Atlas Mountains in our comfortable private car, which will allow you to appreciate all the scenery from mountains to rivers to scattered small villages.
We will from stop by the beautiful Ifrane town, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco”, then at the cedar forests of Azrou in order to interact with the wild monkeys that live there. We will stopping at the town of Midelt for lunch, then finally head to Erfoud town after crossing the magnificent Ziz valley. At this point, we will reach our final destination, which is the Merzouga town where we will spend the night at a hotel.
DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT 4×4 TOUR AND CAMEL TREKKING
This day of the Trip from Fes will be dedicated to enjoy the vast endless desert dunes of Erg Chebbi, by first visiting the Khamlia village. Khamlia is important for its rich history, and many people visit it nowadays to get a chance to experience the genuine Gnaoua music played by its masters.
After this we will drive around the desert in 4×4 vehicles, and you can choose to enjoy any desert activity you want (sand boarding, camel trekking, sand bath…). Finally, we will spend the night at our hotel back in Merzouga.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA DESERT TOUR + CAMEL TREKKING
We will continue our Trip from Fes, by roaming around the endless dunes, meeting Nomad families and spending time with them to learn more about their lifestyle. After this you can continue to enjoy your once in a lifetime desert experience, before heading to the camp where we will be spending the night. You will enjoy a cozy atmosphere around a campfire and under the starry night sky, followed by a mouthwatering dinner before sleeping in your desert tent.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA DESERT – TODRA GORGES – DADES GORGES
This next morning of the Trip from Fes, we will all wake up in time to admire the sun rising and casting her beautiful colors on the desert dunes, then we will return to Merzouga riding our camels once more. You can shower and have breakfast at the hotel, before we start driving towards the famous Todra Gorges.
On the way there we will pass by the towns of Rissani and Tinghir before finally reaching our destination. The site, where we will also have lunch, is known for its 300 meters high gorges that attract people from all over the world. We can hike around the valley or simply walk along the Todra River, the experience will be just as interesting regardless. Finally, we will head to our final destination of the day: the Dades Valley where we will have dinner and spend the night at a hotel.
DAY 5: DADES GORGES – OUARZAZATTE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
After having breakfast while enjoying the landscape at the Dades Valley, we will begin our Trip from Fes towards Marrakech “the red city”. We will start by driving through a road known as the “road of a Thousand Kasbahs”, in which you will get to discover wonderful scenery from the south of Morocco.
The road will lead us to a city called Kalaat Mgouna, situated in the blooming valley of roses. After that, we will visit the famous UNESCO world heritage site: the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou where many important international movies were shot. Following that, we will drive through the High Atlas Mountains (specifically the Tizin Tichka pass) before finally arriving at Marrakech.
DAY 6: MARRAKECH–AIRPORT
Today on our Trip from Fes, depending on how much time you have before your scheduled flight, we will visit the most iconic landmarks of the red city. You can expect to visit the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Menara Gardens and more. Finally, we will transport you to the Marrakech airport, which marks the end of our Trip from Fes.
